  1. Out of Office Responder

Out of office replies would be very useful when OOO. This is an important feature for those using Canary for work.

  2. Ability to create MS Teams & Google Meet online meeting invite directly from calendar

Many service provider (including EM Client, Super Human & Outlook) have this feature of creating direct meeting link from calendar. Please integrate the same.

  3. Sorting emails by sender

Sorting emails by sender is, own my opinion, a basic function of every email client. It helps to sort through emails quickly and clear unwanted emails or move them to folders. I find it amazing that Canary Mail does not have this feature. It is also noted that Canary Mail's own website promotes sorting emails by sender (https://canarymail.io/blog/manage-and-organize-emails/): 'Group by the sender: Another way to organize your inbox is by grouping messages from specific senders together. This can be particularly useful if you work with a lot of different people and want to quickly find messages from a particular colleague or client.' So, why is this function not there?

  4. Add a button for translating incoming emails.

It is easy to translate outgoing emails, but there is no option to translate incoming ones. Can you add this function?

  5. Set up Reminder to Follow up an Email

You can set it up for mails with the condition that only sends you a reminder if they dont replay or send a reminder even if they replay

  6. Account Colour Prominence

Showing account colours only adds a very thin bar the the side of the email in the inbox. It doesn’t really help that much. I’d like to see this bar a bit bigger and in the left hand side next to the avatar to increase visibility.

  7. Apple Reminders integration

A simple “Create Reminder from Email” would be awesome. I’d even settle for a Shortcuts integration where I could just forward an email to a specific address and it create a Reminder for me.

  8. Highlight the unread emails in the inbox

It would be easier to identify unread emails in the inbox if they were highlighted rather than indicated by just a blue dot.

  9. Add support for local folders

Not supporting local folders is a show-stopper. I myself have over 900,000 emails using over 70GB spread across 6 different email accounts. I only keep about one year worth of emails online over IMAP/O365, the rest is archived locally. At work, we're only allowed 15GB of space on our Exchange servers, so unless you're a new employee who just started, EVERYONE else has emails archived locally. This application is promising, but currently unusable for users who have years worth of emails.

To know how many emails are in each folder so to not forget about them. folder should include drafts, starred, snoozed.

  13. Canary AI should be able to identfy tasks and add them to calendar or reminders

AI responses often lack a personal touch, and the tone is not quite right. However, if the AI feature could identify tasks and deadlines and allow users to assign dates to save time, drafting these tasks and importing them into reminders or a calendar would help users stay organized and on track.

  14. Possibility to mark only one email in a chain as unread

Right now, when using the group thread view, one can only mark the whole chain a unread, not just singular emails. This is frustrating when you, like me, use the number of unread emails as a kind of check in how I am doing time wise for the day.

  15. Add support of Reply-To header

It seems that Canary Mail does not take into account the Reply-To field from the mail protocol, that is… very boring. Example of mail header: To: Reply-To: From: Subject: Contact about something ... This field is part of RFC 5322, and this RFC said that this field is part of the originator fields for an email: When the "Reply-To:" field is present, it indicates the address(es) to which the author of the message suggests that replies be sent. In the absence of the "Reply-To:" field, replies SHOULD by default be sent to the mailbox(es) specified in the "From:" field unless otherwise specified by the person composing the reply.
